Dr. Forbush is a 2007 graduate of the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. During medical school, she fully realized her passion for manual medicine and the body's innate ability to heal itself given the proper support. She was the Inaugural President of the Student American Academy of Osteopathy which afforded her the ability to travel & train with some of the most revered physicians in Osteopathic Medicine.

 

She took those skills and her passion for the U.S. Army.  She is a decorated veteran who served our Nation, seamlessly integrating osteopathic medicine within the military system. The impact on improving soldier readiness was significant, and soon her regular medical clinics began being filled with patients seeking out osteopathic medicine to help with the chronic issues inherent from military service.

 

After graduating as Chief Resident from the Doctor's Hospital Family Practice in Columbus OH, she opened a rural practice that allowed her to perform both inpatient and outpatient medicine.

 

After a time, her own experiences as a patient made her painfully aware of the gaps and disappointments of the current healthcare industry. Her own experience led her down more alternative and complementary paradigms which included becoming a Usui Reiki Master.  

 

She is firmly grounded in a "Middle Path" approach to patient care. This means examining what is the best course for each patient to achieve and maintain health. For some this will be standard Western Medicine practices, for others, it will include complementary/alternative practices.  Her focus is on partnering with her patient to create attainable realistic models of wellness for that individual. 

 

Her current medical practice emphasizes optimizing the body with osteopathic manual medicine across the entire age span.  This includes evaluations and recommendations for medical cannabis according to Ohio State Law in accordance with the OMMCP (Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program).

 

She is also one of the few physicians fully trained to evaluate and treat fascial distortions in the State of Ohio. Fascial Distortion Model has been a game-changer in her observed outcomes in both acute and chronic pain settings. Additionally, she performs Osteopathy in the Cranial Field along with the numerous manual medicine techniques that make Osteopaths unique in their holistic view of disease and wellness when approaching a patient.
